Valve replacement is a surgical procedure that aims to replace a damaged or diseased heart valve with either an artificial valve or a biological valve from a donor. This procedure is usually performed to treat conditions such as valve stenosis (narrowing) or valve regurgitation (leakage), which can considerably affect the heart's ability to pump blood effectively.
